Stop Sparying Propellant on Your Food
Misto Oil Spray. I used to buy Cooking Spray until I found this little love, the Misto Oil Spray. Not only does it provide you the flexibility to use any oil your heart desires which ensures you are getting good, high quality oil that works best for your body but it will also save you money. Most importantly, when I took the time to read the ingredients in cooking spray I almost threw up!! I could not believe I had been spraying PROPELLANT on my food….seriously, propellant!?!
From Wikipedia, “cooking spray is a spray form of an oil as a lubricant, lecithin as an emulsifier, and a propellant such as food-grade alcohol, nitrous oxide, carbon dioxide or propane.” (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cooking_spray) Seriously, there is food grade propane…nothing about food and propane should ever go together. It is so disturbing.
I bought the Misto at Bed Bath and Beyond with one of my many 20% off coupons. It is also available on Amazon. Even if I do not have the Misto handy, I simply put some oil on a paper towel and apply evenly to the pan or use a basting brush to apply oil. Anything but propellant. There are numerous brands that have good reviews out there, I just happened to purchase Misto and have been very happy with it.
Btw, you do have to clean it every month or so to ensure best performance.
