Couples Who Detox Together Stay Together

As you know, my husband and I decided last week to do a 5 day liver detox โ˜ ๏ธ Our last day of the detox was a week ago and I wanted to give you the DL of our experience in case you are trying to decide if it could be the right decision for you. ๐Ÿ‘ฏ

Pros:
โœ… helped with tiredness
โœ… eliminated daily headaches
โœ… bounding energy after the cleanse (literally doing squats and lunges in the kitchen the day after the cleanse bc I had so much energy I needed to burn off)
โœ… found some great new foods that I โค๏ธ
โœ… natural herbs and not lab chemicals ๐Ÿ”ฌ
โœ… cravings dissipated - need for coffee, chips, ๐Ÿซ , ๐Ÿท went away. I still don't really believe it ๐Ÿ˜ณ this was is also a side bar effect of clean eating. Don't get me wrong I still โค๏ธ those things and will enjoy eating them but it isn't a crutch or daily fix.

Cons:
โœ–๏ธnot an easy one to do. requires a lot of time and prep to make the herbal tea everyday, 2 tinctures for shots 5 times a day, liver flush drink every morning and dietary changes (if you want max results). I decided if I was going to take the time to do it then I was all in on the diet changes as well. This is also a pro though. It did require a lot of work but I would rather that than the typical liver detoxes that are just a bunch of laboratory chemicals jammed into a capsule. Weird to me to detox the liver yet add more ๐Ÿ’ฉ. I didn't take any supplements during this time except for the superfood (which was recommended as part of the liver cleanse) and Vitamin D (a MUST for me).
โœ–๏ธ 5 cloves of garlic and 5 tablespoons of EVOO on day 5 ๐Ÿ˜ almost killed me...or those around me ;) again this is also a pro because I liked that it was real food being used to cleanse and heal the body so it really isn't a con unless you're a ๐Ÿ‘ถ like me.
โœ–๏ธit is not easy or for the faint of ๐Ÿ’•

The 5 days are pretty grueling. It is common on a detox to be low energy and even get a reaction from the body detoxing - the same as it would if it was fighting off an infection/ cold. This happened to my husband. He had night sweats and a slight fever on day 3 & 4. I experienced feelings of nausea and wanting to vomit on day 1 & 2 so that was fun ๐Ÿ˜‰

Tips:
๐Ÿ”นdo research ahead of time on the best program for you and the side effects
๐Ÿ”นbe prepared and have a plan
๐Ÿ”นstock your ๐Ÿก full of good healthy food, you don't want to be hangry
๐Ÿ”นavoid intense workouts instead go for walks and do some yoga ๐Ÿ™
๐Ÿ”นget a massage to help move the toxins through and increase the positive impact of the detox

Summary:
๐Ÿ’ On day 5 it was the afternoon before I realized that I hadn't had any coffee!?! I didn't think this could ever happen. How could I simply forget to have my morning coffee but I felt great!
๐Ÿ’ While at the end of day 5 my husband had dreams that Chipolte had a meat buffet!?! WHAT!!! One might say he was missing his daily meat ๐Ÿ— intake but I'm super proud that he held strong. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’ช
๐Ÿ’ Funniest quote from day 2: "the only difference I feel is that I am on the verge of ๐Ÿ’ฉ my pants " The detox will also help to cleanse your digestive system = Win! Win!
๐Ÿ’ Dr Schulze recommends doing the detox twice a year but I think once a year and less alcohol overall is my personal recipe for success. This is a very powerful detox and not for the faint of hearts. It wasn't easy and requires a lot of prep work and ensuring you have plenty of good foods to keep you fueled. I chose to go mainly all raw and my husband did all vegetarian and raw 90% of the 5 days. Overall it was an amazing experience and definitely a step in the right direction to heal and respect my body in many ways. It felt like a reset button for my liver, digestive system, mental state, and eating habits. ๐Ÿ’ฏ๐Ÿ†#vivbuzz
